Easy Roast Duck Recipe Ingredients 2 teaspoons salt 1 (5 pound approx) whole duck 1/2 cup melted butter 2 teaspoons paprika (smoked paprika can also be used) 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon medium chilli powder How to make our Easy Roast Duck Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Rub salt, pepper,chilli powder and paprika into the skin of the duck. Place in a roasting pan. Roast duck in preheated oven for 1 hour. Spoon 1/4 cup melted butter over duck, and cook for a further 45 more minutes. Spoon or ladle the remaining 1/4 cup melted butter over duck, and cook for a final 15 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.
